WOW

I can't believe that I still remember my login. It has been a while. A heartfelt apology to both of you that actually read this blog. Things have been crazy and well, I've been a bit lazy the last few weeks. I'll try and give a summary of the bigger things.

I think I last left off with some frito pie, so it is definitely time for a new post. L and I had the stomach bug for almost a week. We got over that and the isolation it brought. I don't remember much of anything from that week. I think we watched a LOT of tv. A few days after we were better G hosted his first LAN party at the house. For those of you who are not geeks, a LAN party is where all of the geeks bring their computers to one location (our house) and play video games until morning. They had a lot of fun.

At some point that night, L came in crying, holding her chest saying her tummy hurt. I thought we were on for round two of the stomach bug. The pain went away fast and she was on her way again. Sunday afternoon she came in and climbed up on our bed after her nap. She was playing and began hyperventilating and holding her chest again. We sat for 20 minutes talking to her and getting her to calm down. I called my mom, Lisa (who is a nurse) and the on call doctor and no one had a clue what to do. They all thought maybe it was gas pain. This time though, as soon as she came out of it, her fever shot up to 102 degrees. That's some serious gas! Aunt Lisa came and checked her out after she got off work. We had thought that maybe it was a gallbladder attack or appendicitis or something. It was really weird how it would be so intense and then just go away. Monday we took it easy. We went to the mall with Mammy and Pops.

Then Tuesday, I was trying to get L ready so I could go to work and she kept telling me that she wanted to stay home. Then she started breathing real weird and up went the fever again. It shot up to 102 and I called the doctor. They didn't have any appointments until that afternoon. I sat with her and she kept breathing weird and getting hotter and was completely lethargic. I finally called back and said we needed to be seen ASAP or I would just take her to the ER.

I didn't mean to make this story so long. Sorry! Anyway, the doctor said she thought L had pneumonia. This was the farthest thought from my head. She wasn't coughing, she didn't have the classic rattle and she didn't even have a runny nose. She did blood work and a flu test, which both came back fine and sent is to the hospital for some x-rays. They did a head/sinus and a chest x-ray. Leah did wonderful, especially considering I couldn't be in the room with her. The doctor called a few hours later and said she had a sinus infection, bronchitis and pneumonia in both lungs and for her to start an antibiotic now. YUCK!

Wednesday I woke up feeling lousy and by Wednesday night, I was running 102. Our dear friends and past neighbors, John and Cheri, brought over a wonderful dinner for us and we sat and visited for a little while. I was pretty out of it and feel horrible that my house was a wreck and we were in pretty bad shape. It was great to see them anyway. Thursday my mom took me to my doctor, who seemed to think I was getting it too. He put me on some antibiotics and a new inhaler and sent us on our way.

Saturday and Sunday, G took his motorcycle safety course. He had a great time, although it rained on them most of the time. He did lay the bike over once, but so did most everyone in the class. It's hard to learn in the rain. He passed his driving test and was excited to have it done. L and I laid around most the weekend trying to recover.

Wednesday we had an ultrasound and saw the babies four extremities, head and tummy. It looked like a little teddy bear and still had a very strong and fast heartbeat. Everything with my labs looked good and we were on our way again. The official due date is May 9th, but there is a really good chance it will be born in April. They don't want me going full term.

Friday we made a short trip up to Conroe to get all of my delivery records from the hospital and to go to the DPS for G's written test. He passed and is completely legal to be on his bike, once it is running again. We also went to a high school football game while we were up that way. The 2 schools closest to us were playing each other and it was a pretty exciting game. Unfortunately, L was fascinated with the cheerleaders.

The house is almost done. The is a little bit of trim work left on the wood floors and I think we finally picked some tile. We are going to have it put in sometime in the next few weeks.

Speaking of the next few weeks, L and I are going to be gone. My mom called Friday night and said, "hey do y'all wanna go to Florida on, say Tuesday?". I think she needs a little break. She decided she is packing up the 7 youngest and driving to Florida to go to Disney World. We leave in the morning and will be back next Friday. WOW!!! Nothing like a last minute, 2 week trip, huh? We are looking forward to it and hope to have a wonderful, memory making time. I will not have a computer with me, so I will have to update and post pictures when we get back. I do PROMISE to do it though.

I think my 3 year old is just a tad spoiled. This will be her third trip to a Disney park in 13 months (2 thanks to grandparents). I sure hope she doesn't grow accustom to this!

I'm glad you guys are feeling better! Yay for a 2-week trip!

I'm bummed we can't come down this fall and get Luke and Leah together! They played so well last time!
