Pay it Forward

After my doctor's appointment on Friday, Daddy-O, Sweet Pea and I began a discussion on what to do for lunch. We had been debating on whether or not to spend the money eating some place nice or settle for PB&J at home. My Sweet Pea had been craving Olive Garden all week long. She never threw fits about not going, she would just mention it whenever the subject of food was on hand. We decided to give in. We headed over to Olive Garden and were enjoying some salad and breadsticks when a women walked over to our table. She explained that she and her husband had been given two gift cards and it wasn't really her husbands kind of place. She said that they had used all they could and still had $15 left on one. She placed a gift card on the table and said to use it to buy the baby lunch. Before I could finish processing what she was saying, they were gone. We had a fabulous lunch and walked out of there paying the equivalent of a Taco Bell meal, including tip. It was such a sweet gesture from a total stranger. It was also a great way to teach Sweet Pea about the receiving end of giving and how nice people can be. Thank you, Miss Olive Garden!
