While my Dad and the older kids are in Honduras, my mom decided to get out and do something fun with the youngest 4. She booked a room at The Woodlands Resort . They have a beautiful set of pools with 2 large water slides and a small one. There are 3 pools, a hot tub, a sauna, 3 slides, pool volleyball and basketball, many waterfalls, a fountain to play in and the entire pool has underwater murals and underwater music. It's pretty fancy. The pools are also salt water and are so much more comfortable than chlorine filled pools. Sweet Pea kept telling us that the water "tasted so good" and Peanut would dip her hand in it and then rush to get it to her mouth. So much for watching our sodium intake. There is a full service bar and grill so you don't even have to leave your chair. Very nice, very relaxing. On the weekends they show a movie on a giant screen at the pool and have a fire pit for smores. There are no life guards, which I actually preferred. You don't hear people yelling at kids and blowing a whistle every two seconds. I am a big fan of the "watch your own children" movement. We got there just after lunch on Tuesday and the kids got out of the water only long enough to eat dinner at 8:00 pm. Lisa and Isaiah joined us around 2:30 and Daddy-O and Micah joined us around 6:00. Sweet Pea had a blast going down the big slides and Peanut got to try swimming for the first time. She was a real big fan. We left a little after 9:00 and were all exhausted. The best part? We didn't even use the room we booked. We changed clothes in it when we got there and then all opted to sleep in our own beds since we were so tired. It still was cheaper than taking all the kids to a water park for the day and was much more relaxing.
Do these make my cheeks look smaller?
I have some video of Peanut's first swim and of Sweet Pea on the slides that I will try to add soon.
The kids and I went back on Wednesday for a little more fun. The weather held out on us for a few hours. We had a GREAT time, Nana and kids. Thanks so much for letting us tag along!
