So Behind

I have got to stop this bad habit of waiting to post until I have 100 things to write about. The week just gets away from me.

We have had a lot going on here - starting cereal, 9 immunizations, 2 well checks, 1 sick check, our first big order (and 2 small ones) completed for work, training seminars, new classes at the Y and lots of Olympics.

I have pictures for most of the fore mentioned, but just realized they are not on the server yet. I will try and get them up tonight. For now I will leave you with some funnies from the past few weeks.

1. Our beagle CJ has had seizures ever since he had a bad reaction to a vaccine. The other night Sweet Pea was playing a card game with Uncle Caleb and in the middle of it I overheard her ask him, "Are you having a seizure? People have those sometimes, you know".

2. I have always sung Sweet Pea a song my mom used to sing to me. I'm not sure what the name of the song is, but it goes "I love you , a bushel and a peck, a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck", etc. The other day Sweet Pea told me I need to sing Peanut her song. It went "I love you, a bushel and a tree, a bushel and a tree and a hug around the knee". Paula would have been proud of her for "taking it and making it her own".

3. While riding in Mammy and Pops van Sweet Pea asked if the song on the radio was Buddy Holly. Mammy responded that Pops liked Buddy Holly's music. Sweet Pea then added, "I love that song on Rock Band", referring to Weezer's song Buddy Holly. Mammy's response? "A Rock Band? Not in my car!". You have to love that whole generation gap thing.

4. When Sweet Pea had her chicken pox vaccine last week, she had a reaction to it, which left her with one, single chicken pock. She ran around telling everyone she knows, "See my 1 little chicken pock?".

5. Sweet Pea has asked about who she will marry several times. We have always taught her that God has a special man picked out for her. The other day she must have been feeling a little impatient, when she informed me, "God has someone special for me named Tristan (one of her best friends) and I am gonna go ahead and marry him when I'm little".

6. We have been watching a new show on TV called WipeOut. It is basically a huge, messy obstacle course. One of the contestants was bragging in a pretrial interview that the course looked "easy". As he fell on the first obstacle, Sweet Pea yelled, "Not that easy now, huh, big boy?".

7. One Sunday afternoon, my mom was in bed resting, while my brother JT (9 years old) played his video game in the bed next to her. My dad was in his recliner watching a golf tournament. It was near father's day and the announcer was commenting on how last year around this time Tiger Woods lost his father and this year he is a father. This conversation followed (JT never even looked up from his game).

JT - "Tiger is a father now?"
Dad - "Yep"
JT - "Is he even married?"
Dad - "Yeah, he married a super model"
JT - "That must be distracting!"

8. Sweet Pea was trying to put on a tricky pair of shoes the other day and yelled, "These shoes are not cooperating".

9. Sweet Pea was playing in a kitchen drawer the other day and came across a ziploc handivac sealer . I heard it fire up and her gasp. As I turned around, I noticed it stuck to her forehead. She was trying to "take her temperature like at the doctor's office" and wound up with a hickey on her forehead instead.

10. On Sunday, Pops asked her how she got to be so good at coloring. She told him, "You just have to concentrate".

So sorry to hear about your pup with seizures! Our Anni has epilepsy, so I know the hassle that can be! I love all the cute sweet pea stories! And thanks for the support on the National Anthem!! =)

Have I told you lately how much I love Leah? She is still the coolest kid I know. I love the story of the ziplock hickey - it cracked me up.

Sorry, the last comment was from Leah's aunt and BFF - Lisa
