Day 5 - Magic Kingdom

Today was spent back at Magic Kingdom. I honestly think I could spend 8 days at this park alone. It is probably my favorite. It's nostalgic, large and has a great balance of big and little rides. We left a little later this morning, although we haven't set an alarm once since we've been here. The forecast showed lots of rain in the am so we decided to wait it out. Peanut didn't even make it to the park before she was back asleep. When we got there it rained just long enough for us to put all of our rain gear on and then cleared up and was beautiful the rest of the day. The skies were very cloudy and it was cool, but the park wasn't very crowded and it made for a very nice day. As soon as we got in the gates, we spotted Daisy and stopped for an autograph.

We then headed over to the Transit Authority, aka People Movers.

After that, we took a chilly ride on the rockets.

Mommy and Peanut sat out while Daddy-O and Sweet Pea rode the Stitch ride and then we were off to Buzz Lightyear.

We then headed over to Cosmic Ray's for lunch. With full bellies we hopped on Tea Cups. This is one of Sweet Pea's favorites, but was Peanut's first time. She liked it too and was "signing" more when we stopped.

We finally made it to a parade. Every single parade has been cancelled or in the middle of a dinning reservation since we have been here. We finally have the chance to make it to one and Sweet Pea didn't want to go. The past times we've been here, this has been the highlight of her trip. I finally talked her into going and she was SO glad I did. I am not sure what it is about musicals and parades, but that child comes to life. She was giddy! She couldn't stop smiling and hugging us afterwards. Peanut followed in big sissy's footsteps and had a blast, as well.

It was then time for Peanut to nap, so Daddy-O and Sweet Pea headed to Mickey's Toon Town to meet some of the Fairies. They met Fawn, Tinkerbell and one other one. Sweet Pea has been reading the Fairies chapter books for several months and was very excited about seeing them. In all the trips we've made to Disney parks, this was the first time we saw Tinkerbell.
Sweet Pea and I rode Goofy's Barnstormer and then we all headed out in search of a snack. The dinning plan we got with our vacation package has turned out to be a good deal. We don't have to worry about meals at all. You can eat at ANY of the parks or ANY of the hotels you wish. The restaurants all have a good variety of food, not just the burger, hot dog or chicken, like we expected. We've had everything from ribs to roasted turkey. The only problem we've had is not being able to eat all of the food (even with Peanut's help-she doesn't get her own meals). We get one sit down meal and one quick meal a day, both including and entree, two sides, a drink and a dessert. We also get one snack each day. I'm afraid we are going to be eating like pigs the last day just so that meals and snacks we have left don't go to waste. We will be packing popcorn and frozen Mickey ears back on the plane with us.
We headed back over to Fantasy Land (aka Kids Paradise) and rode Small World, which is still Peanut's favorite. Then it was off to Pirates, Jungle Cruise and Big Thunder Mountain (once with Mom, once with Dad). We finished the night off riding Peter Pan.

I think Peanut got irritated at my flashing camera on this one. By this point she was tired, hungry and cold. Not a good combination. We decided to head back to the hotel early (8:00) and get dinner at the restaurant here. The girls were happy to have some time to play and relax before bed.

On a side note....can we say T-E-E-T-H-I-N-G? Someone is going to have tooth 5 and 6 before we get back.

Disney is such a neat place. We leave our stuff in our stroller and never have to worry about it walking off. People are constantly giving up seats for others, offering to take photos so that everyone can be in them, helping each other on and off the rides, etc. I think the employees are so friendly and helpful, it just kind of trickles down. It truly is a wonderful place. We've even had people offer to share their food (popcorn, bananas, etc.) with the girls while waiting in line (which we did turn down). I've enjoyed getting to know several of the families that we met on the buses or in lines and Sweet Pea has had a great time "making new friends".

Well I'm off to catch a few winks. On tap for tomorrow is EPCOT World Showcase, lunch with the princesses and Illuminations.

Also, I heard from my brother that my mom has been really sick this week. I feel bad that I am not there to help, but also know that since I have 2 kiddos myself now I wouldn't be able to do a lot. One thing I can do though is get people praying for her!

Oh, I love it. The pictures are just wonderful. I love the picture of Kate after the tea cup ride. I am glad you went to the parade as well. It is Kate's first time to Disney and it would have been missing something if she did not get to see at least one parade. Have fun today.
