Other than Easter, this week has been pretty normal. G and I had a real long talk and worked out some of our issues. It's nice to regroup and be on the same page again. G ordered Guitar Hero 2 for his XBox a few months ago and it arrived last week. He and everyone else we know have been playing it every night since then. We have all been staying up way too late playing. I'll have to get some pictures of the guys and their "video rock band".
During the storm last weekend, our neighbor lost one of their trees. It landed right on their roof, but didn't seem to damage it.
However, our roof that was unfortunately untouched is in horrible shape. I have no idea how old it is, but I do know when the house was bought 6 years ago, the roof barely passed inspection. Our friend, J, owns a roofing company and several of his employees are in a bible study that meets at our house. They were looking at ours on Tuesday and seem to think they can get our insurance company to okay a new roof since there was so much wind in the area. They are supposed to send an adjuster out next week. Keep your fingers crossed.
Also, we came across a foreclosure down the street from our house that has a lot of potential. It has quite a bit of work to be done, but is in a great location and sits on a 1/2 acre wooded lot at the end of a culdesac. It is so secluded you can hardly see another house. We are going to look at it again tonight with my parents and G's parents. My parents are quite the handy man type and can give us an idea if it's worth anything or how much it would take to get it fixed up and G's parents have built many houses, as well as flipped a few. We are very curious to see what they all think. It is 2200 sq. ft. versus our current 1200 sq. ft. I don't know if there is any chance that we will get it or that it will be worth anything, but it can't hurt to look.
L has had a horrible time sleeping this week. One night she woke up terrified. She kept telling me something was going to get her. She couldn't tell me what, but she was pretty upset. I was so tired, I just threw her in bed with us. There begins the problem. Now every night since, she has woken up. Some nights she has obviously had another bad dream, some nights she is just being 2. Last night, we decided to let her cry it out. I think we made a total of 6 trips in to her room during the night. She was crying more than sleeping and kept explaining that she wanted to "go sleep in mommy and daddy's big girl bed". Since none of us got much sleep, it made for a rough start this morning. And wouldn't you know it? We had our family pictures scheduled for this morning.
Our appointment was at 11:00 am. My plan was to be up no later than 9:00. I finally dragged my still sleepy head (okay so maybe G drug me) out of bed at 9:30. I gave G a haircut and got L's bath ready while he showered. I threw L in the bath while I jumped in the shower. As I was getting dressed, I heard L fussing. I figured she was just ready to get out, but then I heard G shout for help. When I got into the bathroom I noticed the problem. L has been constipated a little bit and although she tries to go often, it has a way of sneaking up on her. She had pooped in the bath. YUCK!!! I pulled her out, cleaned the tub, sterilized the toys that had been in the tub and threw her back in the tub. Once all was said and done, we were only half an hour late for our appointment. Considering my normal lack of promptness, I thought that was pretty good. Just to give you an idea of how late I run, these pictures were supposed to be taken in January. If we would have waited any longer, it would have looked even more silly to be wearing sweaters, in May, in Houston.
Our picture appointment turned out great. The gal that took the pictures did a great job. L was being her typical, shy, 2 year old self, but the end product was great. I will post some of the pictures as soon as we get them scanned. I guess that is it for now. I'm gonna go rest for a minute before all of the folks arrive.

It's so gross when they poop in the tub. Jayden hasn't done it in a long while, thankfully, but I remember when he did I kept the bleach under the bathroom sink for quick decontamination. Good luck with the house, let us know how it went. : )
