This morning when I put my potty trained 2 year old, L, in the bath tub she didn't need to go potty. A few minutes later when I returned to wash her hair, she told me in her very informative voice, "Mommy, did you know you can potty in the bath?". When I explained that no you shouldn't potty in the bath, she got a very worried look on her face. She then confirmed that it was indeed too late.
Then 30 minutes later we were in the car on the way to work (my parent's house). She informed me that she needed to potty, which is nothing unusual. I told her she would have to wait until we got to Nana's house. After all, we were only about 5 minutes away and I know she has held it much longer. I mean she did JUST go. Her reply was, "I can't go in my car seat. It would be messy". I agreed with her and said that's why she should wait and reassured her that we were almost there. I then hear from my ridiculously precocious 2 year old, "or you could just clean it up when we get there". I came so close to pulling that car over and... well, you know. I couldn't believe she had the gall to say that to me. Not to mention the fact that she had just peed all over her car seat and the back seat. Lord, help me as I think I may have my hands full with this one! What am I going to do when she is a teenager!
Also, this morning the pest control guy was here doing a quarterly treatment. L waited until he made it all the way through the house and into the garage to inform G that she "didn't like that man".
