As for the rest of the week, (this is more for me to keep track of the weeks than for your reading entertainment) Wednesday I had a doctor appointment to get my staples removed. I couldn't believe how much better I felt with them out. Even simple things like laying down were so much more comfortable.
Thursday we just hung out at home. Uncle Caleb and Aunt Christa came over to play with Sweet Pea for a little while. They tried out her new sidewalk paint and had lots of fun.
Friday we went to our first meal out as a family. We ate at TGI Friday's and came back home.
Saturday we had a LOT of family come by. My mom and dad stopped by to help us fix our garage door, then both of Daddy's brothers and his parents came by, all at separate times. Also, the girls took their first bath together.
Bathing Beauties
Sunday we went to church. Peanut slept through the whole entire service and woke up as we were leaving to eat. She had a classic, very noisy gas session in the middle of communion, which was quite entertaining for those around us. We then went to lunch and home for naps. That evening we went to my cousin, Julie's house for a barbecue. My other cousin Rick, his wife Gia and their new baby, Dominic, were visiting from California. It was so good to see all of them! I some how managed to forget to get a picture of Julie and her family. I will have to add one later.
Cousins and third cousins (I think)
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday we just hung around the house, as best as I remember. I do think we took an initiation trip or two to Super Wal-Mart.
By Thursday I had almost made my two week mark of being a gimp, so I decided to fly solo. I drove for the first time, post op, took both girls to my doctors appointment with me and even made a stop at Target. We then came home for naps before heading back out to Peanut's two week check up. The girls did great! Peanut's check up went well. She is now 7 lbs., 5 oz and 20 1/4 inches long. She was 6 lbs., 15 oz at birth and 6 lbs., 8 oz when we left the hospital. The doctors like for them to be back to their birth weight by their 2 week check up, so my little piggy exceeded expectations. This was GREAT news to me since Sweet Pea had a horrible time gaining weight and wound up in the hospital for a week because of it. Peanut had her heel stuck for some blood work, which she was not fond of. I also discussed whether or not to start her on medicine for reflux with the doctor. She doesn't seem to be in pain because she rarely cries, but she is constantly throwing up out of her nose and choking while eating. Sometimes she will hold her breath for over 20 seconds and even begin turning blue. It is very scary. In the end, we decided to wait and see since she is gaining weight and isn't hurting. With Sweet Pea's reflux she screamed 14 + hours a day and the medicine made a HUGE difference. Hopefully Peanut will just outgrow her little issue. Until then, it's LOTS of laundry.
Friday the girls and I picked up Uncle Micah from the airport. That night we had some yummy Mexican food for dinner. Let me take just a second and say that we have some awesome friends. We have had meals delivered to our home every other night since we have been home from the hospital. Since everyone has brought enough food for an army, we have had leftovers on the other days. It has been such a blessing. Thanks friends!!! Anyway, apparently Peanut was not sure what to do with the Mexican food. I guess it's the first time I've had it since she was born. She and I were up until 5 am. Not fun! I could tell that she was hurting, but wasn't sure what the problem was. Finally at 4:45 I put her on her tummy to see if she would sleep that way and she filled her diaper and went to sleep. Problem solved. With Sweet Pea, we had 15 different types of Mylicon drops on hand, with this one, NONE. The only thing I could find was some Motrin that came on my diaper cake. To make me feel even more incompetent, when I woke up Saturday morning I realized we were totally out of diapers. Once again, this would have never happened with our first born. Funny how things change.
Also, after dinner, we met some friends at Market Street for ice cream and to play in the fountain. The kids had a blast and played for a good 2 hours.
Saturday we went to a going away party for some great friends, Jeremy and Mandy. We had a great time visiting with everyone and stayed out WAY too late. We will miss you guys, but know that you will come visit (we are holding B and Nana hostage so you do).
Sunday we had a great Mother's day. We went to church, where the girls drew lots of attention in their matching polka dot dresses (thanks Mindy). We then went to a nice lunch and came home for a much needed nap. That evening we went for a walk to the park. It was a wonderful Mother's day. I am so blessed to be the mother of two beautiful, sweet girls. God has been SO good to us.
