According to my sister-in-law, I call the police a lot. Not that it's for unnecessary reasons, just more than most people. In the wee hours of the morning, I decided it wasn't worth a phone call to shut up the drunks across the street. Instead I just left a little note for them.
To the Lively Visitors in Our Neighborhood:
While I found your 2:30 am rendition of an old classic, “Stand By Me” to be superb (considering the fact you couldn't even walk straight) my kids, who were awakened by it, did not. In the future, please be considerate of the fact that this IS a neighborhood and that people do indeed SLEEP at night. Thank you so much for your cooperation!
Sincerely,
Your biggest fan

What is it with people? I can't stand inconsiderate people. It was drunken fighting and cussing in our neighbor's backyard at 3:00 am a couple of weeks ago. Why can't they just take that stuff inside!!
Good idea about the note; I'll have to do that next time, as I'm sure there'll be a next time.
BTW, I agree with Lisa :)
I once told a prank caller (just breathing sounds) in the middle of the night, "If you wake my finally sleeping sick babies, I will find you and you will sit in the rocking chair holding both of them until they are back sound to sleep." No more calls. Dorothy Graves
LOL....well at least they weren't singing "I got friends in low places"....
I feel your pain though. We have some very loud, obnoxious neighbors who I am constanly having to call the police on. Once for nearly blowing up my house with fireworks because of the drunken stooper they were in.....
I agree with Kelsey...WHAT is it with inconsiderate people?! I loved your letter! That was great.
