Day 8 - Sick!

With Mommy and Peanut down for the count, it was up to Sweet Pea and I to fend for ourselves. First thing that we had to take care of was laundry, as Peanut had made a terrible mess of both her and my clothes. So we went down to the laundromat for laundry and messed around at the arcade and gift shop. We wasted as much time as we could, partially to see if Sweet Pea or I would start feeling the effects of this bug that Mommy and Peanut now had, but neither of us were showing any signs of it.

So at 4:00 we headed out to Magic Kingdom, as we had reservations at 5:00 at the Crystal Palace for dinner with Winnie the Pooh and friends. The bus, which usually is running constantly, took forever to get there, so we didn't even get on board until 4:35. When we got off, I literally picked Sweet Pea up and ran to the Crystal Palace, as it was raining so I knew the line would be long, even with reservations.

We got in, and immediately started seeing characters. The food was alright, but not spectacular, and it was crowded due to the rain. But Sweet Pea loved seeing the characters.

After dinner, Sweet Pea really wanted to see the SpectroMagic Electric Light parade. So we stood in our rain ponchos on the curb on Main Street USA waiting for it to start. It had already become dark, and just as we got to our spot, it started to rain. We had on our rain ponchos, and we had heard that the rain was supposed to fizzle out, so we thought we'd wait it out.

Then it started to rain, REALLY HARD. I asked Sweet Pea if she wanted to move to somewhere where there was at least cover, but she said "no, I want to watch it here, we can just wait for it to stop." So it poured for about 10 minutes, and then progressively lightened up until it stopped, 5 minutes before show time. An annoucement was given that the parade had been delayed 15 minutes, but Sweet Pea still held her ground. She was a real trooper, and never complained through the whole rainstorm.

At last, the parade began. I don't have any pictures of it, as our camera takes horrible pictures at night, but I do have video of it. Sweet Pea's audible reactions to each part of it are wonderful. I'll try to get it up if I can. The parade was substantially smaller than what I had remembered, and later found out that it is scaled back during inclement weather. But Sweet Pea loved it all the same, just as she does every parade, and it made the whole evening worth it. It was definitely not the same, though as without Mommy and Peanut, it just didn't seem right.

We got back to the hotel, finding Mommy still not feeling great and Peanut doing better, but still not ready to get out. We all went right to bed, hoping that we'd feel better soon.
